On 6 October we had a very special visit from our local police officer. We talked about traffic and traffic lights. He explained why they are important and reminded us to respect the traffic rules. Like real inquirers, we had so many questions for the policeman and he was very kind and answered all of them.
At the end of the visit, he promised to come to our school again. Until then, we will do some more research about his job and make a poster for the local police station.
We look forward to meeting him again!
This visit was especially important for our class because of our current Unit of Inquiry through which we are inquiring into communities, its members and various roles and responsibilities they have. Now we have heard more about an important member of our community - a police officer - and we are ready to investigate some more.
