A walk around Knežija neighbourhood

A walk around Knežija neighbourhood

It was a wonderful sunny day today – perfect for a walk around Knežija neighbourhood!

Learning about traffic signs and rules our goal was to practice crossing the road safely, observe traffic and different types of vehicles in the school neighbourhood.

First, we revised the three steps for safe road crossing – stop, look and listen! Teachers took the observation sheets and we started walking carefully around the block. We paid attention to all the traffic signs we saw on our way, we noticed how vehicles and pedestrians use roads, sidewalks, roundabouts, etc.

We realized that Knežija has one more school nearby and lots of traffic signs to minimize the cars’ speed and make them beware of children crossing the road.

Savska is a very busy street - there we saw trams, buses, cars, trucks, lorries, motorcycles, bicycles, pedestrians...

On Zagrebačka Street there is a pedestrian underpass so the cars above can move fast and uninterrupted.

The teachers were really pleased with our exemplary behaviour and observations. Back at classroom, we represented data collected on the way.

Next week, more excitement is waiting for us! We're off to the real field trip!
