On Wednesday, the 6th of April PYP4 went on a one-day field trip to The Aquatika - Karlovac Freshwater Aquarium and Arboretum.
They visited Karlovac Freshwater Aquarium which is situated on the right bank of the Korana River. The aquarium exhibition areas present an overview of the flora and fauna of Croatia's rivers and their ecosystems, the geological past, and the traditional culture and history of the Karlovac area that lies on four rivers.
The arboretum covers an area of 16 hectares with over 1000 seedlings planted and is the largest park in Karlovac. The arboretum is the ideal place for walking and getting to know species of trees and shrubs. Within the arboretum, there is a pharmaceutical garden with about 10 medicinal plants planted that have been used as a medicine for centuries.
The students had lunch at the restaurant Lovački rog and after that had some free time to play.
