Field Trip to Đurđevac
Warm autumn weather and colorful landscapes are perfect for a field trip. Students from PYP 2 went to Đurđevac. Đurđevac is a small town in Croatia's northeast.
First, we visited the old town where we watched a short play called The Legend of Picoki. Now, we understand why people from Đurđevac are called Picoki. After that, we went to the Sands of Đurđevac visitor center. In this center, we were able to learn about the desert landscape and the biodiversity of sandy habitats. The students enjoyed the interactive boards and the materials presented.
Finally, we watched a movie about Đurđevac legends. One of our favorites was the Đurđevac Zoo (Croatian Sahara). We saw some camels, llamas, horses, donkeys, and other animals. The best thing was that we were allowed to pet them! The animals were
welcoming and friendly. After lunch, we had some nice outdoor time. We were playing traditional games and went treasure hunting.
This was a fantastic opportunity to get out in nature and explore the small desert in Đurđevac with our friends.
