MG week
This week we celebrated the school’s birthday.
Our school was named after Matija Gubec, a well-known fighter for justice. He was a peasant who fought for peasant rights. He had a big black moustache and lived in Medieval times. At that time the houses were small, with straw on the roof. People did not have a lot of money. They inspired us to build our house from paper and straw.
This week we learned a lot about Matija, his life and his rebellion. We read some stories, watched a movie about him. Since the Croatian kuna stopped being used this year, we decided to pay a little more attention to it and made our last kunas and lipas and hung it on the famous Gupčeva lipa.
We even played some games that were played at that time and juggled balls like real jugglers.
Happy birthday dear school! :)
