Life Cycle of Plants

Life Cycle of Plants

As a part of their 5th unit of inquiry, PYP1 students had some great tasks to do.
With tiny hands and hearts brimming with excitement, they carefully planted flowers, strawberries, and beans in their designated cups.

Each student took ownership of their small patch of earth, eagerly anticipating the wonders that would soon unfold. The students quickly embraced the responsibility of caring for their plants, recognizing the importance of providing water, sunlight, and tender loving care. Armed with notebooks and pencils, they diligently observed and recorded the changes they witnessed each day. Through these observations, they learned the significance of nurturing and perseverance. Each student made their own herbarium, too.

Through this unit of inquiry, the first-grade students not only learned about plants but also developed essential life skills. They honed their observation skills, practiced responsibility, and discovered the rewards of patience and perseverance.
