Evacuation drill
To make our school safer, we had an evacuation drill on June 18.
The drill was all about making sure everyone—students and staff—knows what to do in an emergency, like a fire, earthquake, explosion, chemical spill, or other major accidents and disasters.
When the school bell rang, signaling danger, everyone left the building quickly and calmly, following the safety rules. We all used the marked evacuation routes in the "Evacuation and Rescue Plan of Matija Gupca Primary School" and gathered at the meeting spot in the school yard, near the main entrance.
At the meeting spot, there was already a fire truck and firefighters in full gear. They showed us how to put out fires and gave a first aid demonstration.
After the drill, we looked at how long it took for everyone to get out, whether the alarm was loud enough in all the rooms, and if the evacuation routes were easy to use.
This helped us see where we could make things safer.
