Zagreb City Tour 2024
On November 27th we had an exciting opportunity to explore our city centre. The highlight of our tour included visits to two unique museums: the Money Museum of the Croatian National Bank known as ‘Moneterra’ and the Museum of Lost Tales. Both museums offered an engaging experience that combined education, history, and creativity.
Upon entering the Money Museum, we were immediately drawn by a stunning collection of coins, banknotes, and diverse currencies from around the world. We explored the origin of the word ‘bank’, examined early forms of money, and learned about the vital role banks play in society. Interactive exhibits showcased the evolution of money, giving us the chance to design our own banknotes and create replicas of ancient coins, which made our learning experience both engaging and informative.
Next, we made our way to the Museum of Lost Tales, where we were enchanted by Croatia’s forgotten folklore. Under the expert guidance we explored six themed rooms each adorned with exquisite sculpted scenes and miniatures, all set against a backdrop of soft fairy whispers that added a magical touch to our visit.
Our excursion wrapped up with a short tour of the downtown area, where we learnt about important cultural-historical sights, focusing on famous people after whom our squares and streets are named.
To conclude our rainy yet delightful tour, we treated ourselves to delicious ice cream and cakes, ending the day on a sweet note.
