On January 23rd, MYPO and MYP1 students visited the Trešnja City Theatre to watch the play “Dražen”.

The play was based on the life of Dražen Petrović, the most famous Croatian basketball player. It showcased the beginnings of his career, his emotions as he rose to the top, and what he had to sacrifice to get there. The play was very interesting, the actors were very expressive, and the songs and choreographies, including a basketball routine, made it lively and colourful. Our favourite part was the last scene, when the actor who played Dražen sat in the front row among the audience, the spotlight on his jersey, while a video featuring scenes from Dražen Petrović’s basketball games was displayed, and the other actors sang a song as a flag was waved from the theatre balcony.

Overall, we really liked the play and believe that it delivered the message of persistence, hard work, teamwork, and never giving up. Those messages are very important to us, as only a person who possesses these traits can fulfil their dreams, just like Dražen did.
