The Renaissance Day in MYP3
For this year's School day, Croatian Language and Literature and Croatian Language Acquisition MYP 3 students, along with their teachers Mirjana Blažičko and Barbara Čičmak participated in a Renaissance fair in the main hall.
The students prepared a Renaissance dining room. They explored recipes, researched the time period, created posters and decorations, and cooked dishes. The recipes differed according to social class, and while cooking, the students tried to replicate the cooking techniques and norms of the Renaissance time period. Some of the recipes included potato pie, apple pie, garlic bread, porridge, plum „knedle“, compote, buns, and more. The students also created informational posters, wrote down the recipes, the ingredients and the names of the dishes, all of which were displayed at the fair. This was an interesting and fun task, and the perfect way to remember Matija Gubec and the time he lived in!
