PYP Students Celebrate International Mother Language Week

PYP Students Celebrate International Mother Language Week

From February 17th to 21st, PYP students enthusiastically celebrated International Mother Language Week, embracing the rich linguistic and cultural diversity within their school community. The event was filled with engaging activities that highlighted the importance of preserving and appreciating different languages.

One of the highlights of the celebration was a series of Chinese workshops, where students explored the beauty of the Chinese language through calligraphy, storytelling, and interactive lessons. These sessions provided a hands-on experience, allowing students to deepen their understanding of Chinese culture.

In addition to the workshops, MYP students delivered insightful presentations on their mother tongues, sharing their knowledge of Chinese, Zimbabwean languages, and Macedonian. They spoke about the uniqueness of their languages, their significance in daily life, and the cultural traditions associated with them.

This celebration not only enhanced students’ appreciation for different languages but also reinforced the value of multilingualism in fostering global understanding. By learning from their peers, PYP students gained a deeper respect for linguistic diversity, making this a truly meaningful and educational experience.
