On the occasion of World Water Day and as part of the Service as Action program, MYP students and teachers participated in a Creek Clean-Up Action on March 13th, in cooperation with the ‘Planinska družina’ association and the Public Institution “Nature Park Medvednica”.

Embracing the beautiful, sunny day, we cleaned the Vukov Dol Creek, collecting a significant amount of trash to restore its natural beauty. Among the items we found were cans, bottles, plastic bags, and old clothes. This action offered our students a valuable opportunity for community engagement, but also a chance to explore the watermills and the educational trail along the Vukov Dol Stream.

After the clean-up, we visited the Igrcov watermill and the stunning permaculture estate of Sovinjak, where we enjoyed our free time playing basketball, zip-line, and engaging in other entertaining games. We were especially happy to meet two cute dogs – Lu and Kiki. They were quite curious and socialized easily with us.

We had a wonderful time in nature, welcoming the new spring season by connecting with the environment and spending quality time with our classmates and teachers. We extend our gratitude to Mr. Blažek for his hospitality and look forward to our next visit.
