Peer-to-Peer Learning – Unique Geography lessons

Peer-to-Peer Learning – Unique Geography lessons

Collaborative learning among students in the international and national programme

In an exciting classroom exchange, students from MYP3 class took on the role of teachers and presented their findings on various geography topics to 7th graders in the national programme. This approach enhances their learning experience and fosters collaboration.

The presentation was part of their Geography lesson, where they explored diverse aspects of the subject, from physical landscapes to human-environment interactions. The presenters prepared their materials, including maps, slides, and interactive activities, to engage the audience. As they shared information about their chosen countries, climates, and environmental issues, the students in the audience were encouraged to ask questions, sparking lively discussions. This collaborative learning approach not only allowed the presenting students to refine their understanding but also provided their peers with the opportunity to broaden their perspectives on geography.

The event highlighted the importance of peer-to-peer learning, where students can actively contribute to each other's educational journeys. By presenting to a different class, the students gained confidence in public speaking, strengthened their teamwork skills, and deepened their knowledge of the subject. This was one of many collaborations with teacher Inga, the Geography teacher in the national programme, and one of many lessons created in this manner.
