Paris Trip – Love at Every Sight

Paris Trip – Love at Every Sight

From the 27th to the 31st of March, MYP students visited Paris. Led by our teachers and tour guides, we explored the "City of Love".

Upon arriving in Paris, we immediately embarked on a bus tour that took us around the city. We saw many famous landmarks, including the Eiffel Tower, Place de la Concorde, Notre-Dame Cathedral, Les Grands Boulevards, Opéra Bastille, Trocadéro, and Le Dôme des Invalides. We took a stroll down the vibrant Champs-Élysées to the Arc de Triomphe. We also passed the Eiffel Tower again on our way to the Seine River boat cruise. During the boat ride, we enjoyed breathtaking views of Paris and all the lights that surrounded us as night approached. At the very end of our journey, we watched the Eiffel Tower sparkle. After the cruise, we had dinner before taking the metro back to our hotel.

On the second day of our school trip to Paris, we started the morning with a visit to the breathtaking Palace of Versailles. As we approached, we were immediately struck by the grandeur of its golden gates and the sheer size of the estate. Inside, every room was more extravagant than the last, featuring glittering chandeliers, intricate ceiling paintings, and walls adorned with gold and marble. Walking through the Hall of Mirrors felt like stepping into a dream, with huge mirrors reflecting endless light and stunning views of the perfectly manicured gardens outside. We learned about the history of the French monarchy, from Louis XIV's opulent lifestyle to the role Versailles played in the French Revolution. After an unforgettable morning, we headed back to the heart of Paris to explore the Louvre Museum. The glass pyramid entrance was iconic, and inside, we wandered through halls filled with some of the most famous artworks in the world. Seeing the Mona Lisa up close was surreal, and we admired countless other masterpieces. The museum itself was like a work of art, with its high ceilings, grand staircases, and beautifully detailed galleries. It was a peaceful yet exciting experience, strolling through history and culture. By the end of the day, we had not only walked a lot but also gained a deeper appreciation for art and history, making it a truly unforgettable day.

On the third day, we spent an exciting day at Disneyland Paris, experiencing some of its most thrilling rides. We started with the Hyperspace Mountain, speeding through twists and turns in a fantastic space adventure. After that, we explored the Pirates of the Caribbean, sailing through caves and witnessing pirate battles displayed by high tech animatronics. Next, we rode the Indiana Jones ride, racing through sharp and sudden turns. Lastly, we experienced the Hollywood Tower of Terror, where we felt pure adrenaline as we plunged into darkness.

After an exciting day at the park, we made our way to the Eiffel Tower. We reached the top by elevator and we admired the breathtaking views of Paris and its phenomenal landmarks. It was the perfect way to end an unforgettable day.

On our last day in Paris, we spent it visiting Sacré-Coeur, a Catholic Church dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. While we were there, we had the opportunity to take pictures, get an in-depth look of the church and learn some interesting facts about it, as well as explore Montmartre. After enjoying the vibrant atmosphere of Montmartre, we returned to our hotel for lunch before heading to the airport. When we arrived at the airport, we spent a few hours there before boarding our plane back to Zagreb.

This trip was not only fun and interesting but also very educational. We became immersed in the city's rich history and culture, as well as the French language. It was a wonderful and adventurous learning experience, providing us the opportunity to create lasting memories.
