Student-Led Panel 'Social and Online Awareness'

Student-Led Panel 'Social and Online Awareness'

On May 29th, students and teachers gathered for a powerful student-led panel presentation titled “Social Media and Online Awareness”, as part of the MYP Service as Action program. The event was fully initiated and organised by Aura R., an MYP 0 student, who demonstrated outstanding leadership in planning and hosting the discussion.

The panel featured engaging contributions from Aura herself, a representative from the Safer Internet Centre, and youth speakers from Gen-Z Academy. Together, they explored important topics around digital responsibility, online safety, and the impact of social media on young people. Aura also designed a digital brochure to support the presentation, which was displayed during the event and shared with attendees in print and via QR code on the school website. Students were highly engaged and participated actively, asking many thoughtful questions.

This initiative stands as an inspiring example of student agency and action, showing how MYP learners can make meaningful contributions to their communities.
