International Community Day 2025
Each year, International Community Day gives us a special moment to come together and celebrate the variety of cultures, heritages, and backgrounds that make our community so unique. This year, we were delighted to welcome 15 countries to the celebration: Bosnia and Herzegovina, Canada, China, Croatia, Hungary, India, Italy, Kosovo, the Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Singapore, Slovakia, Tűrkiye, and the USA.
The event opened with the PYP choir performing a Croatian song by Vice Vukov titled “Tvoja zemlja”, which means “Your Land”. The song carries a beautiful message about each country being a place where we can build our home.
Throughout the event, we had the opportunity to explore 15 different country booths and learn about their traditions, history, and culture, as well as taste a wide range of traditional foods. We enjoyed discovering fun facts about the United States, trying Canadian-style pancakes with maple syrup, tasting delicious dumplings and other specialities from China, exploring traditional outfits and customs from Kosovo, and enjoying original ćevapi from Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The event was further enriched by the School Co-Op stand, which offered Zagreb-themed greeting cards that visitors could personalise, along with other handmade creative items.
