On March 18th, MYP students who take French as an optional subject visited the French Institute in the centre of town. When we arrived, we were welcomed by the French attaché and two members of a Moroccan band. First, we listened to the band’s performance. They sang a song called Ciel Sidéral, which means “starry sky” in English. We had to fill in the blanks on a lyrics sheet to help us understand the song better. After listening to the song, we created a small collage booklet inspired by the lyrics. The theme was all about the galaxy and the universe. Once we finished our collage booklets, the band helped us practise singing their song. We did many practice runs until we finally got it right and recorded our final version with our voices.

We are very thankful to the French attaché, the Moroccan band, and our teacher Branka for organizing and supporting this visit. Overall, it was a great experience, and we enjoyed all the fun activities they planned for us.
