Story Friday gives our students the opportunity to become the teacher for a little while. Each student chooses a book they would like to share, prepares to read it aloud to the class, and then creates a fun comprehension activity connected to the story.

The activity can take many forms – a quiz, a game, a creative task, discussion questions, or something completely new. It is up to each student to decide how they would like to check whether their classmates were listening carefully and understood the story.

Through Story Friday, students develop their reading fluency, communication skills, creativity, confidence, and comprehension, while also learning from one another. Most importantly, it is a wonderful way to share the joy of reading and discover new books together.

After seeing so many creative ideas last year, we can’t wait to find out which books our students will choose this year and what exciting activities they will come up with!
