Community Helpers in PYP1
During this unit of inquiry, we talked a lot about all the communities that we belong to and we explored a lot about all the people who help us in our everyday life. After that we had fun creating sculptures of various community helpers using plasticine modelling clay and play dough.
One morning the real traffic police officer came to our class. Imagine the excitement! He brought the fluorescent yellow raincoats for everyone to become more visible in the traffic. We talked about the traffic rules (it reminded us again that wherever there is a community, there are the rules too), how to act responsibly in the traffic etc.
Check out the gallery for the photos. Unfortunately, teachers’ photography skills are not as good as their teaching skills.
