Wrapping Up 4 Weeks of Online Learning
Dear Students,
We are ending Week 4 of Online Learning. We hope things are beginning to feel more settled for all of you.
The idea of the complete school experience being delivered online is a tremendous challenge for both students and teachers and something that any of us have ever contemplated. Your teachers work constantly to make the virtual learning a rich learning experience for you. Although online education has its limitations, we have to look on the bright side. There are many advantages such as flexible learning schedule, self-paced learning, comfortable learning environment, developing your time-management skills.
Most of you are doing a great work, you have become more independent, organised, digitally competent and more effective in virtual communication. This is something that will definitely come handy in your future life! Whenever you need support and encouragement, don’t hesitate to contact us. If you feel overwhelmed with the school obligations, here is the suggestion for the latter to track and organise yourselves: create a list of things you should do every day and tick each of them as you finish them.
Spring Break:
We will be taking Good Friday, April 10th and Easter Monday, April 13th off making it a four-day holiday for both students and teachers.
In order to stay connected in these difficult days, but on the other hand taking in consideration that you need a break, your teachers collaboratively planned fun activities for next week integrated within the project 'Virtual World', trying to emphasise that #StayHome doesn't have to cause any sort of extreme boredom. Within these activities you can:
- engage in virtual theatre tours, virtual museum tours, virtual art gallery tours and Google Earth virtual tours
- expand your knowledge on using some simple and fun digital tools
- make plans for virtual holidays choosing a destination in some foreign country or around the Solar System.
The teachers will post these assignments in the Teams app on Tuesday, April 14th. These activities will not be assessed, nor would they involve learning new skills but would focus on the idea of travelling without travelling that might be beneficial for you at this time while travelling is on hold due to coronavirus outbreak.
I wish you to get some rest in the following four days. While embracing virtual travel and virtual classes we still hope they will not replace real travel and real school. In the meantime, please be safe and enjoy your time together with your family! We miss you and can’t wait to welcome you all back in school.
We are sending the warmest of Eastern greetings to all of you celebrating.
Teacher Linda
