Exploring Croatian Heritage

Exploring Croatian Heritage

In Slavic mythology, Perun was a god of thunder and storms. It was believed that a flower called Iris (perunika) was growing from ground that had been struck by lightning. And how did the rivers Mirna and Dragonja got their names? The legend says Istria was once a place full of giants who built all those beautiful villages and named the rivers.

Listen to the Orač Dragonja (by Vladimir Nazor) and Perunovo svetište na Učki - Sjena gromovnika (by Tomislav Matić) to find out more about those legends.

But what about the rest of the Croatian heritage? MYP1 had a task to explore it and create a presentation about their research. Check them out!
