The Treasure of Culture
On a cloudy afternoon of May 28th, we, the Pyp 3 students, presented a Culture Unit to our parents and siblings. Our class was grouped into ten groups, researched, and then presented information on the following countries: Romania, Ukraine, Macedonia, Iran, Switzerland, USA, Great Britain, Turkey, Netherlands, and Croatia. We found information about each country and explored the types of games they have, languages spoken, famous sports, traditional clothing, popular food, and religion, which were the main points of research.
Students then created posters and other handmade crafts such as sculptures made from clay. Petar and Luka A. made several posters about Turkey and brought Baklava for everyone to taste. Goorkem, together with Rafael, presented on Switzerland, and they had plenty of cheese and chocolates to share. Nikol and Katija presented on Croatia and discovered that the whole of Croatia could fit into the city of Kiev, Ukraine.
Ozge and Helena represented Macedonia and learned that Ohrid is one of the deepest lakes in Europe. Motahareh represented her country, Iran, and shared that they use a different alphabet where they write from right to left.
In conclusion, the Culture Unit presentations went well, and our Pyp3 class tried their best. This would not have been possible without the support of our teachers and parents, whom we hope also enjoyed and appreciated the presentations. This project served as excellent preparation for our Exhibition coming up next year.
