We Went Apple Picking
On Thursday, 18 October, PYP students had a great time going apple picking!
For some of them it was their first trip to the orchard. Upon arriving, our hosts welcomed us with tasty apple treats - freshly picked juicy apples, apple juice and apple strudel. Everything was sooo delicious! Before the apple picking would begin, children had to listen and learn about different types of apples, as well as how to properly pick them without hurting the trees. Finally, it was time to get active! Each student got to choose their own tree and fill the bag with lots of beautiful bright red apples. Smiles filled the air as they all did a really nice job being gentle with the trees and listening to directions.
After hard work, it was time for lunch and, afterwards, the favourite part of the day - time to run around, have fun with friends and enjoy the fresh air in the meadow. The weather was perfect and the students enjoyed the trip, but they also couldn't wait to take their apples home to their families.
