Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!

No, no, it’s not December! It’s February. 5th February.

Chinese New Year! The Pig’s Year!

One of our parents came to present the Chinese culture and customs for the New Year’s celebration.

We enjoyed the mystic sound of Chinese language and found out that this day grandparents give their grandchildren red envelopes with money inside for good luck and prosperity. Mothers and grandmothers cook Chinese traditional meals, like dumplings which we had the opportunity to try. Everybody wears something red and even put some red decorations on windows and doors because it’s the color of happiness, health, prosperity and honesty.

So, forget all the bad things, hug your friends and family, and wish peace and happiness to everyone.
