Welcome to the New School Year

Dear MYP Parents and Students,

It is our pleasure to welcome new and returning families to a new school year at Matija Gubec International School. We hope that you are healthy and well, and were able to enjoy special times with your loved ones over the summer break.

'Bodies 2.0.' Exhibition

On June 16th, 2021 we visited an educational and scientific exhibition ‘Bodies 2.0. – The Magnificent Universe Within Us’ held at the Klovićevi dvori Gallery.

School Climate Challenge

Some more great news! Our MYP3 students, Iskra, Erika and their mentor teacher Ratko took part in this year’s School Climate Challenge organized by Designathon Works Croatia. Their design for Hydropower Sava won second place!

Field Trip to Kvarner and Istria

During our three-day field trip to Kvarner and Istria from May 26th to 28th we took a hiking tour in the Učka Nature Park, participated in truffle hunting with specially trained dogs in the forests of Buzet, explored the legends of the Pietrapelosa Castle, took a sightseeing tour of the towns of Opatija and Rijeka and enjoyed a boat cruise in the Kvarner Bay.

First Prize at the School Co-Op Contest

It is our pleasure to inform you that our School Cooperative ‘That’s it!’ won first place at the School Co-Op Contest of the City of Zagreb. The students presented the project about Kamišibaj theatre and the legend of 'The not so scary dragon'.
